What is “managed safety services”?

Managed Safety Services means that a NELCO representative will stop by your business at an agreed upon schedule, to inspect, inventory, and re-supply your first aid items. During the same visit, they can also ensure emergency equipment, such as AEDs, are in working order, plus inventory and re-stock safety-related items, such as gloves, respirators, safety glasses, earplugs, etc.

How often do you stop by our business?

You decide. Depending on your industry, number of employees and number of first aid stations, we will work with you to determine whether monthly, quarterly, or just once a year.

  • 6x/year
  • 4x/year
  • 2x/year
  • or, just 1x/year

You can change your schedule at any time, or adjust seasonally, if necessary.

How much does the service cost?

Our service is free. We charge no service fee, no mileage fee (within 100 miles of West Fargo), and no lease or subscription fees. You pay only for the products we re-stock each visit…and, you can create your own custom list of first aid supplies, if you choose. Essentially, you decide what you want it to cost.

Do we have to sign any type of a contract?

No. We still believe in handshakes and good faith agreements. This has worked for NELCO First Aid since 1987 and we intend to continue this way of doing business, reminiscent of a simpler time. Additionally, we believe this way of doing business holds us accountable. If you feel that we’re not doing a good job for you, simply cancel our services with no legal obligation or financial requirement.

Can I find similar safety supplies cheaper online?

Probably. We’re not a discount first aid supplies store. We deliver top quality products to your business; re-stock and organize your first aid cabinets; stay up-to-date with and advise you of OSHA/ANSI Standards; monitor useage and notify you of potential theft or misuse. And, we do all of this for free and not on your payroll. 

You could pay someone on your payroll…

  • to routinely tour your facility and inspect first aid cabinets
  • to research and order products online
  • to spend time receiving supplies and re-stocking cabinets
  • to routinely check AED functionality and PPE inventory
  • to monitor OSHA/ANSI Standards

Now, multiply those hours x their hourly wage + the price of the discount products. It rarely ends up saving the company money in the long run.

We do all of those services for free. You pay only for the products you choose to have us stock. On average, our prices of individual products may be 10-15% higher than comparable quality products you’d find online. But again, we have no service fees or mileage charges on top of that. No hidden costs whatsoever.

What industries do you serve?

All industries. While manufacturing and heavy industrial make up a large percentage of our clients, we also service hospitality, agriculture, education, automotive, corporate locations and all others. 

All U.S. businesses with 3+ employees are recommended to provide access to first aid supplies. OSHA 1915.87(a) states: General requirement. The employer shall ensure that emergency medical services and first aid are readily accessible”.

How far from West Fargo do you provide service?

Typically, our free service extends to a 100-mile radius of our West Fargo offices, including Wahpeton, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls. 

Many of our larger Fargo-based clients have multiple locations outside of this radius. For them, we will ship supplies at a reduced price, but must include minimal shipping fees.
